Procedure:
- Add approximately 50 ml. of the substances into a half glass of water.
- Add 2-3 drops of water hardness indicator into a half glass of water.
- Shake the glass.
- Observe the result. If the color of the result remains blue, there is no hardness present on the sample; while if the color changes to purple, violet or red, it shows that hardness is present.
